Green OC

Some key green initiatives employed at the Anaheim Convention Center include:

  • On-site rooftop chef's garden
  • Participation in Monterey Bay Aquarium's Seafood Watch program
  • On-site "Green Zone," a recycling and composting area that provides the Anaheim Resort District with fortified landscaping compost
  • Environmentally Preferred Purchasing (EPP)
  • Ownership of our own free-range beef; certified humanely raised, grass fed and finished, ensuring a safe food source
  • 1.5 megawatt rooftop solar array coming in 2012
  • Partnering with Bike Nation, a self-service rental system that allows travelers to get around with bicycles instead of cars.

Our local community has also embraced the green culture.  Check out what some of our partner hotels, transportation companies, event venues and other businesses are doing to lessen their carbon footprint.

At the heart of all things fun in Anaheim/Orange County is all of the entertainment and iconic attractions. These attractions are not just about creating memorable experiences, they're consciously creating a greener tourism and meetings culture.
Several transportation companies work to make meetings and conventions environmentally friendly for residents, employees and guests of the City of Anaheim.

In November 2010, the Anaheim Convention Center (ACC) was awarded the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). LEED is the USGBC’s leading rating system for designing, constructing and operating the world’s greenest, most energy efficient, and high performing buildings.
